Best of the Fest....

46 events, 16 venues, 10 days - The third Family Friendly Film Festival was the biggest and busiest yet!

There was dancing at Urbis with Baby Loves Disco, spooky after hours tours around the Manchester Museum and magical activities at The John Rylands Library during Harry Potter day. You got to jump rope with UK champions at Zion and dress up as pirates at Stockport Plaza. We gave out hundreds of goody bags and film festival monster colouring sheets and we had some terrrific entries for the design a monster competition and in between all that there were screenings of some of the best family friendly films around!

On top of the film screenings, the workshops and all the activities, you also helped us raise money for a really great cause. With a combination of ticket sales, donations and a raffle prize draw we raised over £250 in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children worldwide. This was split between the UK based charity Action Duchenne  and Charley's Fund, which is based in America.

One Year. One Million DVDs

The team behind Darius Goes West: The Roll of His Life, the incredible documentary about Darius Weems that was screened during the gala are still hard at work trying to raise money for this truly worthwhile cause. Their new goal is to sell one million copies ofthe in one year and all proceeds will go towards finding a cure for DMD.
