It’s 1989 and amongst the ruins of the Berlin wall, the father of a Finnish family finds an abandoned guard dog puppy.
When he brings the dog, Stormheart, home his 7-year-old daughter Pearl takes charge of training. The family discover that Stormheart is a Caucasian Shepard; a fiercely loyal breed which has protected people and cattle from predators for centuries. They also learn that Stormheart’s parents were guard dogs on the Berlin wall. Within months Stormheart is enormous and defending Pearl from anything that stands in her way.
