The Magic Rockpool
The Magic Rock Pool is a hilarious claymation film made by a group of kids aged between 5 - 10 during our first ever Family Friendly Film School in 2007.
Sponsored by First Light Movies and made with the help of the WFA Media and Cultural Centre, this animation is taking the world by storm!
Since its premier at the Odeon Cinema at the finale of the Family Friendly Film Festival in 2007, it has been screened at the Cornerhouse in Manchester during the 2008 exposures festival, where it received a special commendation. More recently, The Magic Rockpool was nominated for Best Fantasy Adventure in The Activision First Light Movie Awards 2009, which was held at the famous Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square in London.
Some of the biggest names in the film industry, including Danny Boyle, Sienna Miller, Orlando Bloom and Daniel Craig, were involved in these exciting awards. The Magic Rockpool was judged by Hollywood star James Franco (possibly best known as Harry Osborn from the Spiderman films), who said:
"The claymation was very well executed, giving the characters distinct personality".
